Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif
Constructed in 1955, served as Sheikh Rashid’s summer retreat away from the city bustle.
Built using traditional materials—adobe, gypsum, coral, and East African timber—with natural ventilation via wind towers, shutters, and a rooftop used for drying dates and sleeping.
Fully restored in 1994, featuring a tranquil garden with date palms, citrus trees, and a falaj irrigation system that creates soothing water flow through the grounds.
Preserved summer residence (majlis) of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the former ruler of Dubai, known for its peaceful, reflective atmosphere, offering respite from Dubai’s urban pace.
